"Let's get political!" or "Chairman Mao Wants YOU!"

Tonight's topic of caffeine-induced blather:
60% of the Canadian population votes
(of eligable Canadians)
The party with the majority of votes wins office,
so even if there were only 2 parties running,
and one won with the majority of 51%...
...30% of eligable voters determine our government's leadership format.

Even if 30% counted as a legitimate number, even if we accepted this blatantly incorrect number as the percentage of Canadians needed to sway the end result...
...that means that 30% (at most!) of Canadians can dictate whether we are Liberal or Conservative (I say this only because when was the last time the NDP came close to majority?)

With such a small voter turnout, how can you say that your vote doesn't count?
If you don't like the way the system works, then vote, rally for MP's to vote according to constituencies needs (and not to bend down to party whips), or....

...move to another country.
